Titus Young Meltdown continues

The Oakland Press reported that former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young was arrested twice in 15 hours over the weekend by southern California police. Young was stopped by the Moreno Valley Police Department at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday after making an illegal left turn in front of a patrol car and arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked, received a citation and released from custody. Just hours later, at 2:22 p.m. that day, police responded to a tow company yard where a man was seen jumping over the fence. He was arrested for burglary after the police determined Young was trying to steal his own vehicle. He was booked again at the same detention center. Young was a second-round draft pick by the Lions in 2011 out of Boise State and finished the last season on injured reserve with a bad knee.  Young, 23, was released by the team on Feb. 4. Young was claimed off waivers later that month by the St. Louis Rams, but he cut a few days later.

Titus apologized (kind of) to Lions fans

Before the Lions released him early this year, wide receiver Titus Young used Twitter on a couple of time to complain about his role on the team and the fact that the Lions wouldn’t release him to find another team. Those were a few of the things that help lead to the end of his Detroit career. Titus spent a week with St. Louis before the Rams cut him as well. Young’s now unemployed, which leaves him plenty of time to use twitter. In something of a surprise Titus apologized (kind of) to Lions fans early Tuesday morning.

The Detroit Free Press reported young tweeted “I apologize to the Detroit fans, Thank you, for the 2 years of Love and joy,”  But within 2 hours that tweet and every other were deleted. There’s no word on why Young decided to switch gears away from his apologetic stance and even less on interest in NFL teams bringing him on board to vie for a job in 2013.
