Doesn't This Just Seem More Fitting?
We all know by now that Kansas and Kentucky will duke it out for the National Championship in a game where the top two winningest programs in the game will meet on the same floor. Don't get me wrong, I love the first couple rounds of Cinderella stories, but this game is what college basketball is all about.
Last year's championship game (if thats what you want to call it) was the worst in NCAA history as the teams failed to score 100 points. It wasn't the fact that it was a low scoring game that made it lack the hype, but the teams involved. The common fan loves watching that one team that no one expected to get there succeed in the NCAA Tournament, but when you have four titans left standing in the Final Four like we had this year, it is better for college basketball.
The storylines in this matchup are endless. The best two individual players in the game will meet on the same floor when Kentucky's Anthony Davis will go up against Kansas's Thomas Robinson. Personally, I think Robinson should have won the player of the year honor over Davis and will play with more of a vengeance. Coupled on top of the fact that Davis wore a cape to his press conference yesterday showed his youth and his arrogance that will carry over to tonight.
It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that has listened to the show throughout the month of March, but I am picking Kansas in an upset to knock off Kentucky 71-68.
Tune in today at 4 for a one hour edition of the show before we take you out to New Orleans at 5:00 for the National Championship Pregame Show.
